Terrell A. Hicks, PhD | Registered Psychological Associate

Dr. Terrell A. Hicks (he/him/his) is a Clinical Psychologist. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral Medicine (APA-accredited) at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral experience (Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and the San Diego Veterans Healthcare System. His prior training experiences include Duke University, the Durham Veterans Healthcare System, and the Richmond Veterans Healthcare System. Dr. Hicks has received multiple grants supporting his research at the intersection of LGBTQ+ populations, PTSD, and co-occurring alcohol and substance use. He specializes in treating adjustment concerns, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and substance use disorders.

Dr. Hicks practices evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

He is supervised by Dr. Sarah E. Jung and is a Registered Psychological Associate (#94029551), treating patients in California.
